Idk but I still like to purchase my music through iTunes. I like to have my music on my iPhone. I travel a lot and I go through many dead zones so I don’t stream my music often.

I've got mad respect for the early Yngwie, but to me Uli Roth was the first to lay down the law for metal Strat playing and tone. It's the pinnacle no one has come close to IMO.

Here's the complete playlist of the 50th Anniversary edition of the Scorpions "Tokyo Tapes". Uli just FUCKS. If you listen to this record with good speakers or headphones, his playing and the sounds he conjures are jaw dropping. Speedy's Coming and Polar Nights are the first two songs I heard from this record several decades ago... those tunes fry my brain every time I listen. Hell, the whole album is fucking insane...every single track.

I just wish Uli had done one tour in the States with the Scorpions because he would have been up there with EVH in popularity.

Brilliant record. Yngwie slayed back then. His playing was a bitchslap wakeup call. I love his playing and tones on the early stuff.

Amazing Strat tones! Can't believe it's the FS-1's but that's what was around back then. I had them in my Strat's as well.
This is the track from that album that is just drop dead gorgeous. Shades of Holdsworth. The neck and bridge pu tone is to die for.

I love uli tone but a tad lighter riff tone wise for me . Excellent shit though

This one is a banger too. Fuck he was good. I don't get the " Yngwie could never write any songs" the dude wrote like 6 back to back albums with great singers and songs and then his later stuff still had a few good songs each album until it goes down hill at War to End all Wars. ( which even had a few good tunes on it) People are ridiculous. Not many bands put out consistently good songs for even 3 albums. This also doesn't take into account Alcatrazz

I started commenting on Norum posts a few years back telling him to ditch active pups and les Paul's and play his strats more. In recent years he has gone back to the strats and passive pickups and he sounds fantastic. So you guys are welcome ? .. I'm guessing I wasn't the only one doing that. He must have come to his senses.

I totally agree - that was Yngwie's golden era in terms of playing and tone. I like the way his guitar sounds on Trilogy as well, especially lead tone. Listen to the intro to Trilogy Suite for example. Like a damn violin.
