I see your Highway, and raise you (from the same tour
To me, this is the best effin' version of Shoot to Thrill, bar none IMO. Wasn't recorded at Donington btw, but at NEC, Birmingham.
The Donington version sounds more 'gurgly' and a tad bloated in the guitars. This one sounds more raw. Probably the reason why they choose this one to be on the (double) live album.
I was a teenager when I got my hands on this and since then, I promised myself if I'm ever playing a full stack JCM800 or Plexi on '11' (yes I know, not the amps used here), I'll play this intro riff. It fookin' rawks. ?
Fly On The Wall album was pretty gainy
Idk know about the best but I really love it . Even Malcom’s tone is awesome. Powerage album has my fav tones but the boogie era is amazing . I wish they used it in studio like they did in this albumyeah, i always say that live album is there best tone. smooth and buttery leads for angus

I dig the production. They just needed Brian’s voice up a little higher with less verb/delay on it but the Rhythm section and guitars are huge. One of my favorite guitar tones they ever got. Angus’s lead tone is on fire.I love this album . Production is shitty but the songs are there

Jcm 800s! Sound great . Flick tour you can see Malcom use a brand new jcm800 . That went on til fly . Then went back to jmpOne of my favorite tones but the band hated it.
I’ve seen them many times but the Fly tour was my favorite. Up on the barricade for about an hour and it was loud up thereJcm 800s! Sound great . Flick tour you can see Malcom use a brand new jcm800 . That went on til fly . Then went back to jmp
