IK Multimedia's TONEX Parametric Tone Model technology allows users to capture not just a single static sonic snapshot of an amp or pedal, but the actual real-time behavior, sweep, and interaction of up to six physical controls or switches (with up to 10 capture positions per knob)
Once they can capture the entire sweep of each knob from low to high, they still have to work out any interactions/interplay of the controls.
Not sure if the will overcome the issues with current component-level physical modeling (Fractal, Line 6, UA, even NUX,...) which still has challenges accurately modeling the bi-directional complex feedback loops, voltage changes and non-linear beahvaiors.
