Anyone try one of these? It looks like a cool updated version of a Dallas Rangemaster.

I had one. Kinda wish I still had it.
It's as you describes, an updated take on a Rangemaster.

Well, they seem reasonably priced . I might snag one to try but just wanted a bit of reviews before I did. Thanks for chiming in!(y)

Wasn't the Sabbra Cadabra pedal by Catalinbread the Tony Iommi pedal?

It's certainly the pedal that sounds MOST like tony iommi

A rangemaster is great if you have a vintage laney supergroup, a p90 equipped gibson SG with original john birches and gold plated ferraris etc etc platinum toilet seats. They sound like shit with modern amps.

I figured it would be a nice treble booster if nothing else? Thought about trying it with my Bogner Ecstasy as that amp really likes the presence controls way up there to take it where it needs to go and thought this might add something different and possibly interesting???

Nope! They work great in a high gain amp as long as the gain isn’t up to ridiculous levels on the amp. Remember Kage? I think he was using one at one point into a high again amp, into a Boogie as a matter of fact.
They are awesome into 800 series Marshals.
And anything that says Catalanbbread on it, I would take a hard pass on.l

I use a
rangemaster type (beano boost) into my 20th xtc and it's great. Old school aggression. Like Carl said just don't put the gain up high...maybe start around 9 or 10 o'clock.

If you like iommi, a treble booster into an xtc sounds great for those old sabbath tunes. Ymmv blah blah 😀

I have no idea who Kage is, but hard disagree. Rangemasters sound great in the vintage amps they were designed for, and not great in modern high gainers
