So maybe I am late to the party, but just heard that the Tool cd was recently released so I thought I'd pick one up and went on Amazon and did a search and thought I must of made a mistake as I was getting a price of 200.00 for some deluxe limited release package and honestly I just wanted a physical copy of the cd release and too my surprise I find out that it was a preorder and a bunch of people bought what seems ;like every copy available from what looks like a price of around 35.00 to 40.00 dollars and have now taken it upon themselves to mark this shit up 3 to 5 times the original price... seriously how fucking lame is this???

I really thought I'd just go on Amazon and pick up a new release cd for under 20 bucks like always for a new release... boy what an idiot I am, but I cannot allow myself to be ripped off by these opportunistic money grubbing scumbag scalpers this ransom note of a price for a cd... I guess I must not be a deliriously obsessed psychotic fan....

Would love to have a physical copy but this is just insane... End of rant... :D

You pretty much summed it up, you are late to the party and you needed to pre-order as this was a very anticipated release.
I got my deluxe edition on Aug. 30. It's the only physical version of the CD they released, and yeah pathetic dirtbags caught wind of it and started scooping them up. I don't blame you for not paying the inflated price, but it sure is cool...

Imagine an Adam Jone signature Fortin amp.......

I’d imagine the band will hear of this and do something about it..ie print more copies and make sure they don’t sell in bulk to single buyers.
Then again maybe not...

I won't be buying it until it is available for normal CD price. Until then I can listen to it on YouTube.

Yeah, I think that's the plan for me as well, but it would of been cool to pick it up now... Oh well by the time they actually release just the cd maybe I will have forgotten about it...

I went to Target and bought one at normal price...

As far as the audio quality goes, the CD is an "HD" disk whatever that means. If you want high-quality audio, I recommend going to HDTracks and downloading the 24 bit / 96K tracks for $15. :)

Pretty sure they are still working on a diezel sig. saw pixs where peter met up with them after namm to study his original.

My buddy sent a pic of it was $44 at either Walmart or Target for the CD, had some art thing or whatever. $44 is silly for a cd. I just listened to it last night for the first time on spotify.
Scared to see what the vinyl price will be when it announced. Being as long of an album as it is, I'm sure they are gonna ask like $100 or more. Fuck that.

Fuck the CD but I just scored 9 rows from the stage for $175 a ticket. Tool shows sell out in minutes.

I went to Amazon and saw them for $150. Apparently, it's some drawn out package that plays the MP3's, has a chargeable USB port, video screen, and a speaker. WTF? A portable DVD player/disc?

has anyone seen the ticket resale prices on stub hub? scalper dicks picked up tickets, and started flipping them as soon as the shows sold out.

An HDCD is 20 bits instead of 16 bits like a normal CD. But your CD player has to have an HDCD decoder to hear the benefits.

My kid is a HUGE Tool fan, or used to be in HS. Took him to a show in St Paul in 2012, it was an outdoor deal in the park where they used to have Riverfest years ago. He was 16 at the time...awesome show. It was one of 4 live shows they did all year. Someone mentioned that they felt the new album has a Pink Floyd vibe to it...I would say that live show has the same vibe with the video screens and the production.....

It's definitely an experience live. They pull you in and before you know it the ride is over.

I think my car can read that. I'll give it a try. I wonder if I'll be able to hear a difference between that and 24/96 AIFF on my iPhone through the car's USB plug.
