Torpedo Captor burnt out with possibly faulty speaker cable?

I've got a Torpedo Captor 8 which has been working great up until a few days ago. I was playing away and heard the fan of the torpedo kick in while I was playing. Everything was sounding good though so I carried on until I heard a bit of a pop and the DI out sounded like the speaker sim just turned off. The speaker cable wasn't shorting or open but I binned it anyway just in case. Any advice appreciated.
