I just got a torpedo live and this is awesome, thinking of just selling all my mics..so easy and sounds mint...anyway couple questions:

1. should I be recording at 96k hz as opposed to 48k?

2. Will I get the same quality out of the spdif connection that im getting from my regular mic input on interface? I assuming the spdif dosent use the interface mic pre?

3. Im also using it with my red eye 3d as a DI and using that signal to reamp later if need be, what level should I be recording that di at -12db? to get it to reamp right?

4. Whats some of the best ownhammers you guys have for rock stuff? I tried the friedman 030 or something and that was great..?

5. do I need to record my tracks at what I usually would -12db (cab micing) so I can raise them later without clipping or can I go higher since the torpedo records so cleanly?

the interface is a focusrite 18i20, running logic x, if anyone needs to know how to configure your mac and interface to use the spdif I can help...
thanks!

thanks for the help!
I set it all to 48k because thats what the torpedo and interface has, I really like the two notes cabs anyway so ill prob stick to them.
I dont really understand the whole clock thing anyway and yes if I dont use the TN as main clock it has clicks ect.
Do I need the mic pre after the torpedo? will it be better then the spdif? I dont have any outboard mic pres other the the interfaces...thanks again..

ahh ok thanks was thinking of using the spdif to free up a mic input, going to test both and see how it goes..thanks
