I used to have a Kemper but sold it off, when I needed the money. Now I wanna make a new home studio and can't figure out whether to buy a Kemper again or the Torpedo Live.

I'm very satisfied with all my amps and can't imagine needing anymore than that. So right now I'm hooked on the Torpedo Live and it costs half of the kemper.

What say you?

Tone-wise, neither one lags behind the other, so if you like the amps you have, you can't go wrong with the Torpedo Live.

I've had both and I still have the Torpedo Live. I like the emulations better as well as the adjustability of the cabs, especially that I know I am using my own amps with my contract work.

For me it serves many purposes.....late night playing and recording, working in the professional studio as well as my home studio and live.

Very happy with it!

:)

Plus, with the LIVE and your amps you are only using the mic/cab IRs. Which leaves one less thing being digital (power stage) - which to me is good.

I looked into torpedo, but when I started reading people liked red wire & own hammer impulses better than the stock torpedo impulses, I went Kemper...clearly better that the impulses mentioned

Either way your tone will likely rock

Same....I've had the Redwirez implulses for a couple of years now and I prefer the Two-Notes cabs over those. The engineer in the studio I'm working at loves the Two-Notes sounds over the Kemper I used last summer.

Again, everyone has different perceptions on what they hear and sounds good to them, so no biggie either way.

I hate to say it, but ever since I got my Torpedo Live, I only use my Kemper to monitor when I record DIs

But you said it anyway...

I could always beta test some of those new IRs you are putting together :D
