I took the 3 backs off and unscrewed the speaker but it would not fit thru the braces that cove the back. How do I get the speakers out? Do I have to unscrew the front baffel from inside?
Tried again as was able to turn them over and then squeeze them thru the bottom opening, a little tricky with that block of wood, you could damage the cones if you loose your grip.
One thing the screws holding the speakers to the baffle didn't have any washers on them, making the screw head a close fit to the speaker mounting holes could damage the holes, this is the only knock on this cab, it's design and build are top of the line, great cab.
I put a WGS HM75 in there and am quite pleased. It puts out a tad more bass than the stock speaker and has a bit more of a scoop, which works beautifully for clean stuff. I feel like I have even more use out of my volume control on my guitar now.
Bruce's Elite 80 speakers are great speakers, but I have always enjoyed mixing and matching in 2X12's so that I have two different flavors going on. Seems like the tones get a bit more texture, a bit more 3D if you will.
So far as selling your cab, unless you really need the money, please reconsider the selling your Tourmaster cab! I really love these cabs! If you can afford to, try a different speaker.
