Trading a PRS Archon 25w combo for an EVH 5150 50w 6l6 head?

Damn! the one that i was offered is the non-concentric pot version. I really dont mind because ill be using only the Green channel set super clean and Red channel for djenty mayhem. Like a Rectifier.

If you can make it work then more power to you, literally in this case. US fair market value on these non-concentric models is basically $700 max, if that helps. They have a desirability problem compared to the rest, which is why this other guy's shopping trades.

If it is just for form factor and if you like the Archon, why not just look for a head version and then sell your combo? I personally would not touch a 5153 without the concentric pot being added.

IMO the EVH 50 watt head is just an overall better amp......

The Archion isn't bad but the EVH is just better IMO and offers more value in the long run and now too

In this case I'd stick with the Archon.
The clean channel is better, the gain channel covers EVH blue and red gain levels.

Now, this is based on the fact I had the EVH 50 stealth and Archon 50 1x12. Perhaps the 25w Archon doesn't sound as good? But based on my experience with the 2 I had, the lack of the gain knob for the EVH clean channel, and honestly just the overall sound quality and grab-n-go greatness of the Archon 1x12. It is the best sounding 1x12 combo I've heard, separate cab not needed, that's capable of modern dirt sounds. I played the Archon way more than I did the EVH. Its a banging amp.
