Any tips on a Flager or Phaser that works good in front of the amp? I'm looking for something thats totally transparent. Price is not an issue.

Th Fulltone Choral Flange is very transparent and works good in front of the amp. I use mine in front of an XTC.

Thanks for the tip, I'm looking for something small and basic. Any experience with MXR or EHX?

The MXR stuff is excellent, but it isn't transparent. I have both the Phase 90 and the MXR 117 Flanger and find them more subtly awesome out front than in the loop (too pronounced). They aren't the worst tone sucking offenders, but they definitely alter your sound some. Get a LoopMaster and be done with it. Otherwise, go with the offerings from Strymon.

The M117R is a decent unit. But check out the Retro-Sonic Phaser for a sweet, well built, transparent stomp.

I like the MXR stuff although it does suck some tone. Both the RetroSonic Phaser and the Whirlwind Orange are a step up from the MXR.

I have loads of pedals, but if you'd like transparent flanger, I have the Strymon Orbit and it's just a really great transparent sounding flanger with loads of settings. It's got TOO MANY settings for me , so someday I might sell it but I very much love it.

I've had a Mutron Flanger which was 1 of the coolest pedals ever, (worth a mint these days and rare as hell ) and an ADA , and used the old Grey box 4 knob MXR Flangers for years. . But the Strymon definitely is great.

I have a Sobbat Phaser, Boss Ph2 , and PIGTRONIX Phaser/Envelope Filter, had the Ada Final Phase. . I think the Pigtronix is about as cool as it gets

The beauty of the MXR stuff is the way it changes your tone. I have one of the phase 90 reissue's. Not the handwired one, but the one with the light in it.
