I don't have any experience with the Tremonti unfortunately, but I do have a set of \m/ pickups in my CU24 Floyd. "Metal" is kind of a misnomer for them like "Super Distortion" is. They are definitely hot, ceramic pickups, but they're also probably the most versatile pickups I have in any of my guitars and definitely one of my newer favorites. Incredible clarity. They also split great, and I can cover pretty much anything with them.
I also have an Aldrich set in a LP Custom which I've had in there for years and is my #1 gigging guitar. Completely different from the PRS \m/ pickups. If anything, the PRS' are probably more versatile and if I had to choose one over the other for my style and what I like, I'd have to go with \m/.
