Pretty much since I started playing guitar, I’ve used Floyd Roses on all my guitars. Recently however, I’ve started to make the switch away from them. I like to be able to change tunings without the hassle of a floyd. However I still like the feel of the floyd. The PRS trem is great, but it lacks the feel I’m used to. The gotoh 510 is the closest I’ve come to the feel of a floyd in a non locking unit. What else is out there?

Trems killed my hand-vibrato developement. That being said, I may just buy myself a kick-ass Floyd Rose loaded Charvel just to piss-off my left hand.

It's proprietary, but I really liked the trem on my old Parker.

Maybe look for guitars with a standard nut but with the Floyd trem?

As long as the headstock as straight pull and the Floyd is dive-only, it should still stay in tune and be able to change tunings quickly.

But just to make sure you're aware: if the trem is not dive only, you won't be able to change tunings quickly, no matter what trem is on there. If the trem is floating, not matter what the trem: tuning changes are a PITA.

I start out every morning hammering this guy, a Steinberger GR4 with the "R trem" and it works great. I have a Jackson RR with a JT-6 Floyd Rose and these R-trems stay in tune better.

I also learned on a locking trem and have always had them. Just block the trem and you can change tunings and don't have to mess with the springs when changing strings either.
