Education was woke in the 90's....nobody did anything about it. And now just a few years ago republicans start talking about how they need to do something it. Way late to the game. Too damn late. These woke-ites have been embedding themselves into the system since the turn of the 20th century.

Yeah but the problem is at least it was decent back then with scores on average in both reading and maths skills higher than this generations or the ones that came before..... In fact every generation since the 70s has had a better education than the one before up until Biden and WokeMericans......

The problem is multifaceted and not due to just a single party or event.

When i was young, I never understood how kids didnt understand the most basic shit that we were learning in school. It led me to believe that the majority of people where I am from are nearly functionally retarded.

Then I moved to Austin, and while there are a lot more educated people here, the vast majority of those I work with and deal with in daily life are embarrassingly ignorant.

I have lived in many states and found the same thing nearly everywhere.

This leads me to believe it isn't relegated to a certain area, and that what I assumed was average intelligence was actually more like much above average.

The point of all this is that with a great teacher, or a bad teacher, some people's ceiling is well below other's floor.

The biggest change in my lifetime to education was our good friend George W. "No child left behind" sounded like such a beautiful law, until you read beyond the name.

It pretty much made math, science, english, etc bachelor degree holders intelligible to teach in school. You needed an education degree.

I taught a little in college and had to try to teach basic science to education majors...Man, that is where all the dumb people that made it into colllege seem to fall. Those are not the people I wanted teaching my kids.

The final thing I will say is the covidREACTION, as ridiculous as it was actually helped my oldest. He was so bad in school and terrible at reading and math.

One year at home with us teaching him, and he is now among the smartest in his class. I literally described the process of algebra for ten minutes, and he was able to solve simple equations in his head.

We bought them abc and add/subtract/multiply/divide flashcards for the kid when he was about 4. I spent around 20 hours total time over the course of six months working with him and never did another thing again. He was reading at 10th grade level by 4th grade, coasted through high school and got his college degree for LANS for free. We spent maybe ten or twelve dollars total on his education aside from driving him back and forth to band events.

Man it's not even close for me. My kid is building control panels for petroleum coke processing machines and other industrial equipment. I'm not even sure what that entails. I still claim to have him beat since I can run a chainsaw and keep us all warm in the winter. I didn't really want him doing that kinda work anyways but I told him this season he's skinning a deer whether he wants to or not so get your knife in there and cut that bung out without taintin' the meat boy. :LOL:

My parents always told me that if I didn't get an education, I would be digging ditches. I think they underestimated how much I would enjoy digging those ditches

Hey you ain't gotta deal with anyone and especially if you got the sound of a jack hammer going it can be very peaceful.
