Tried a Blackstar HT-5 at GC the other day

I want that Nighttrain something fierce but I just blew my year's funds on a drum set I have to learn how to put heads on and tune them still

I know someone in the UK that has a Blackstar HT-5, he's using it live with a Palmer PDI-03 going direct.

The Night Train clips sound great too. I'm holding out for the Vox AC4 - hoping the local GC will get them soon. Sweetwater has them on preorder for $249.99 (combo) and the head is $199.99. I want to hear one / play one first. The only clip from NAMM is good, but not enough to tell. Leaning toward the combo version.

I was going to go for the Night Train because I could get it for cost but It still would be a bit loud for my condo, so I opted for the HT-5. Im definitely going to get a Nigh train but it wont be for a while! I haven't heard of the AC4!! I'll have to look it up!!

I agree Brother!!! When I was in GC I had the balls to slave the HT-5 to a Bogner Alchemist and one guy freaked and almost bought the Bogner because of that tone lol! I had to tell him that I was getting the distortion from the HT-5

Ralph, I've been raving about that amp for months. Back in January I played one at the Carle Place GC. It was sitting on 2 Blackstar 1x10s and it fargin' killed. I want one to put on top of my Bogner OS 2x12 but if I get more gear, Joe N. will yell at me.

i'm seriously gonna get rid of my jsx...i'm tired of it..really tired of it ....but all the clips of the blackstar along with the reviews by awesome players such as yourself....i have made my decision...blackstar ht-5 will sit upon my genz benz 2x12 cab in the near future. I think i'm gonna trade my ibanez js1200 and my jsx towards a really nice acoustic. Then order the blackstar when it's in stock

I read about these a while back but forgot about them. The feature set is unreal.

They sound killer and not buzzy at all!! I think that you will dig it and for the price..it's insane!! I just hope that they don't discontinue the tube it uses for the power section. Ive never heard of a 12BH7

A lot of people have been getting tired of the JSX and XXX for some reason. Im not sure why but you are the 4th person to mention this!!

I was pretty impressed with the eq on that amp - lots of cool tones to dial up. I'd like to see an amp like that in a 100 watt!

I'm getting one as well since the Mark V is taking forever to ship out. Shit, this little head cost less than an Eventide pedal. I also checked out the Rebel 20 but i was never 100% happy with it.

I agree 100% !! I know they have higher wattage amps but they don't sound the same as this monster did!

With that said, you could always use that amp and slave it lol
