OP I run one through an orange 2x12 with v30s and its all I play at the moment, I have the 50 watter as well and they are quite different but for my apt the LBX screams, I have an ENGL rockmaster 20 head coming this week for that clean vibe as well but the LBX rocks, well built too!

Cool thanks for contributing. So is it the cab that is the key? Having owned numerous cabs over the years I personally have not placed as much importance on them as other people. I currently have a gflex 2x12 which I have a love/hate relationship with and a cheap ass Dime 4x12 that actually sounds decent as it came with Eminence speakers that sound nice and warm. I prefer it over the Genz Benz actually. I also have an ISP vector 300 watt sub. I would love to hear that thing paired with the LBX. I detune my guitars so the crossover separation works well. I was also looking at the Jim Root 2x12 as consideration? I need to go back and try a few more things.

That's one thing that surprised me about the lbx and pt: how much bass they are capable of pumping out. Small amps have come a long way. The lbx having a resonance knob sure don't hurt none, either.

Exactly! A fellow forum member and I had the PT-20 next to a wall of high powered amps (Diezel Dmoll and Herb, Peters, VHT, EVH 100w, Ceriatone Chupa, Marks, etc) and it held it's own through the same 412 cabs. It had to be cranked all the way up but the low end made it sound like a more powerful amp and it stayed tight which amazed me.

New mini amp day:

Got this yesterday. So far liking it very much with my Mesa 4x12. Also tried connecting its preamp section into the power section of my Engl Savage just for fun.

Can't believe Orange cabs aren't way more popular. Every time I play them in a store, the amp/cab combo sounds awesome. Every time. That said, why don't I have one?

Great man, enjoy! I'm curious about that experiment with the mini 5150's preamp into a power amp of a righteous beast. How does it sound?

What's in the cab? V30s?

The lbx didn't do much for me through my evh 2x12. Then I played it through an old marshal 4x12 with greenbacks. World of difference and liked it a lot
Thays because those evh 212's just don't sound good ;)

Sure they do. We'll agree to disagree. Of course, I could always shoot a vid of me running that cab, but I'd hate to melt your face, truly. :p
Well it probably would melt my face with those paint pealing high end frequencies

Seriously though, you're a badass player and should post some vids

Cab still sucks though ;) :D

Cab or the speakers? Big difference.

I'm not a fan of the 70th H30's at all. The cab sounds good...with different speakers in it. Actually one of the better sounding 2x12's I've heard, again...with different speakers in it.

Does anybody get a bad hum from the amp? Not hiss more 60 cycle hum thing going on.

I posted earlier in the original thread vut as far as the hiss it is a bit noisier than the 50 watt which is silent with the gain at normal levels on blue but if the LBX has the gain at noonish its not too bad...obviously when cranked you don't need as much gain to get the notes to jump off the fretboard like a good tube amp, I was just playing mine I love it...

Im just talking about hum. It's the resonance knob on this one that is causing it. Turned off no hum. When you start to add resonance you get the hum.
