Ok very simple.. I am trying to mess around with cab impulses but I think my line out is not working properly on my hotplate. Here is the scenario:

- Line out is maxed and the signal is really hot going into DAW. I need to dial it back. When I do, I lose volume completely, it cuts out. Is my line out done?

Scenario:

100 watt amp with two tubes pulled to make it a 50 watter. The cab is 8 ohm so I dropped the ohms on the amp to 4 ohm as 2 center tubes are inactive.

Do I have an issue here? The cab sounds great on it's own but now I am wondering whether or not the 8 ohm hotplate is affected in anyway? I can't see how it would be but thought I'd ask the pros.

If you are using the IR's only, just set the Hotplate on Load then use the line out. The line out volume on the back should work. Mine is normally turned down pretty far. Don't forget the eq switches on the front work backwards when running it this way.

If you are turning it down alittle and it cuts out, it may be dirty and need cleaned.

Yeah I'm guessing the POTS is dirty or needs replacing as it is somewhat scratchy. I just left it cranked and it seemed to work ok today. When you say the eq switches run backwards do you mean turning the bright switch off actually engages it when running the line out? This might account why my impulse tones seemed darker when compared to my mic'ed amp.

Yes they run opposite for some reason.
