Close.
He always has a lot of gain on. Even on the mellow stuff.

IMHO whether you "nailed" it or not is irrelevant because that was a very nice lead tone.

Thanks for the feedback and kind words. I fully realize my clips aint nothing great but two things... One this is a good way to hear what needs work. And two, i wish everyone put up more clips of their playing as i feel it makes the forum more interesting

Fantastic lead tone in that clip. And I love that Suhr !!!!

Sounds so good man and great playing. Maybe try a little wider/slower on your vibrato for true Sykes!

You got your own thing going man and it sounds great!!!

What gear are you using to record yourself? Phone? Zoom recorder.
That's what's holding me back currently. That and I'm not comfy with my recording software as of yet.

I liked the second clip more. The notes had more separation between them and the amp sounded more open. \

Regardless, fantastic playing.

I know you've told us before, but what pickups are in the Suhr??

Great combination that Boggie and Suhr!! Lovely tone.

That's some great tone...I really need to get around to working out my FX unit again..heh

Put it this way...if it isn't spot on, it's close enough that if Sykes were to release an album using that exact tone, nobody would think twice about it beyond the fact thaat it was a great tone.
Being able to play in a similar style is the key here...most people playing that same rig wouldn't sound as close.
Well done

That was killer Jim! I dug the second one just a bit more too, but they were both excellent. Some sick playing and a great lead tone man.

I'm glad you guys liked it. Off the cuff stuff basically. I need to learn more scales and licks. Was all so basic and repetitive. Timing was off. I do like the tone though. Chad, Erock, Bill, Darren and everyone thanks for your time and feedback

Sounds killer Jim, tone and notes... I liked the second one a little more, but both are killer
