What's the difference in the Tube Screamers? Is one more geared towards blues or rock, does one have more features or more variety in tonal options than the other?

My take away from this video is there a couple of differences in component values and pot tolerances can make subtle differences. Sonically overall they're more similar than different.

Almost the same, but the 9 tends to be a hair brighter.

Don’t mean to convolute your decisions, but if you have the opportunity to try a ts10 you might be pleasantly surprised… even the bonsai emulation does an excellent job but I use it in place of a 808 & ts9 for metal… we have shot them all out side by side.. SRV knew what he was doing back in the day lol it’s my favorite boost of all time.. I own 4 of them
