Turkey Day Jam - looking for tone thoughts

So I got this “play like Yngwie” course - not to play like yngwie, but just to get some insights on his technique. In the course of all that, started checking out all my stacked single coils lol I love the HS3 but it’s such a low output, the noisefloor of my amp was bugging me when I got to gain I could actually play. So I ended up with the Dimarzio Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues 2. Here’s a quick clip - thoughts?? I think it has more character than a normal humbucker but I dunno - on the fence. Think buckers sound cooler??

For me, too much low mids and somewhat dull top end. Doesn’t really sound like a single.
Singles sound good on some amps, Hiwatts and Fenders sound better with single coils to me.
My favorite noiseless bridge single is the Fralin split blade.

yeah that’s just the tone I seem to end up with everytime no matter what I use lol prolly should just stick with the buckers :)

It’s good to go for different tones. Especially for recording. I sound alot alike thru different stuff as well, but there are times when I make myself make it different. Let it be what it is instead of making it into something you already have kinda thinking.

Lately I have been spending a solid two weeks at a time with a different rig. Last two weeks was the Hiwatt, learned alot. Not at all what I thought it was. Amd I have had that amp more than 20 years. Before that blackface Princeton. Surprising amp! This two weeks is a 66 Deluxe Reverb. Already quite surprising. After that will be the Triple Rectifier….

sounds like fun man!! Hey question on that Hiwatt - on that Rick Beato/Neal Schon interview Neal said he was straight into a Hiwatt for Stone In Love. You get a tone like that?
