Evening All,
I'm currently in the market for a low wattage head for practise/recording/small club live use - and I'm VERY interested in the Egnater Tweaker.
I've recently got some great overdrive pedals (Bogner Red and AMT SS-30) so more than happy to use the amp clean/semi-clean and get my dirt from pedals.
I'm just wondering how the Tweaker handles pinch harmonics? I'm looking for tones from classic Sabbath to Alice in Chains to Zakk Wylde type crunch. I appreciate pedals will help, but wondering what any other users can chime in on this?
Next question is the pre-amp out. I'd be using a 1x12 for home use but wanting to have the following signal chain for as quiet as possible recording (late at night etc)
Guitar > Drive pedals > ISP Decimator > Egnater Tweaker > Preamp out > Delay/Chorus/Verb pedals > Input of Two-notes CAB (speaker sim) > soundcard > Daw etc.
Any users tried this? I'm happy to have the head running into the 1x12 - but on '0' volume. Will the preamp signal still work and get a nice tone? Or do I really need to find a speaker load box with NO emulation??
Last question is on the 1x12 cab. I'm considering either the Egnater 1x12 or a local firm who can custom build me one for a similar price with either eminence or celestion 12" - would be closed back over semi open Egnater one. Anyone using other cabs with good results?
Sorry for the wall of text and questions with my first post - my nearest Egnater stockist in the UK is quite a long trip away - so not easy to take guitar and pedals.
Guitars wise, I'd be using it with a ESP EC1000 with EMG 81 and 60 combo and a custom Phoenix Pacifica with BKP Warpig HB and Sinner S/S pu's.
Cheers,
-Riff
