I ordered one from my local store.gonna pck it up fri/sat depending when i get home from work.

Who haz!

Would like your opinions.

I've had a torpedo and use a LIVE everyday. I think it's great. Best IR's I've heard.

I've got one and it is used with every amp I own. Best $995 spent in a long damn time.

I'm new to it - looks cool. I assume you run amp in then out to FOH, but can you also run a "clean" amp signal to a cab (as another stage monitor) for both at the same time?

Unfortunately no. It only has an amp input and a thru put for a cab (if you want the cab). Running without a cab, the digital load will absorb 100 watts @ 8 ohms. Running through with a cab, it will attenuate down at any impedance. The DI line is 1/4" and this goes to the FOH or to a mixer. I run mine to a monitor mixer and back to the two active wedges. Split out of the monitor mixer to the FOH or I can link output from the wedges to the FOH. The unit is mono only. I have given all sorts of ideas of how to make this unit better as far as hook up options.

I should be able to run my cameron thru it and connect to my apogee duet thru logic 9 and out my monitors, yes?

What's the difference between this and a load box with impulses loaded up in a DAW via a computer? Aside from the form factor, of course.

I think it is about the same digital equivalent to an analog load box. The IR's in your DAW would represent what is in the box. The difference being the output functions of the Torpedo and using it as a rack unit for live use. I am sure this is where the idea and design thought process came from.

You can do that and use the torpedo plugin and have virtually the same.

But this super low latency, high quality A/D-D/A and easy to use reliably live.

Nothing, really. However, with the two notes plug in (the ones that aren't free), you can have as many cab/mic combinations mixed as you want (or computer can handle) with a few more effect options the Live does not have.

What is a "clean" amp signal? If it is an unprocessed line out I'm not sure why you want that in a monitor?

But that's why it's called LIVE and not DAW

I would have at least liked an XLR out for wedges. Maybe 2 for a stereo fx unit or system.

Getting one from Brad in the next month or so. Can't wait! I've always been very interested in this product! :)

I don't understand what the Torpedo does, but I love the sound of the Rhodes amp in this clip. Is the Torpedo used for recording only? How would you use this in a live context? Would I run my preamp output into the Torpedo, then out of the Torpedo into the amp return? Seems backwards, since the point here seems to be that it's a load-box/cab simulator. Is this device converting my analog signal to digital, and back to analog via A/D/A conversion?

It's a load box with cab sims. You can use it instead of a cab for silent recording or to kill the stage volume and just go FOH. You also can bypass the load box and run a cab with it while still sending a signal with the cab sim to a recording interface or FOH etc.

Sounds cool. Thanks!
