Dude, I'm not going to get into one of your purposefully contrarian arguments that you've made your m.o.That's a sect, not an example. Control implies an action. What actions is the Catholic church doing to control people, specifically? There are a billion Catholics, I know many and very few of them strike me as being "controlled" by the church. I attend an Orthodox church between 4 and 6 times a year. Tell me how I am being controlled.
Religion has spawned more wars worldwide than any other reason in the history of man. The Vatican had their own money AND police department. That's about control. Nor did I say every religious person is being controlled. Their choice their beliefs. It's about the organizations themselves. Are there pure and good churches/religions? Of course, but usually on a small scale.
