Listening to UM doesn't teach you grammar. Education does that.

Since you're obviously highly educated I would expect your writing to be much more formal. The constant use of coordinating conjunctions at the beginning of your sentences doesn't match your elite status.

Education doesn't teach you to respect your peers, parenting does.

More formal writing would be out of place in this context. And I'm not "highly educated"-I hold a bachelor's degree (from a wonderful institution), and that's it.
