Un-Lock Graph Tech Nut

I snagged up a few of the older Allparts 'Ebanol' nuts after they were discontinued and would occasionally pop up on Reverb. They absolutely worked as well as the very best slotted / grooved / lubricated graphite or bone nut. The Un-Lock by Graph Tech looks very similar to the Allparts Ebanol - just made of their graphite infused material. I'm betting they work well. The design is good, their material is good, and all the other pre-slotted nuts I have gotten from Graph Tech have been really well made.

I ordered one up to check out.

I have a Warmoth neck with a Floyd cut I am going to put on a regular tremolo Strat. It should make a nice neat conversion.

I think it's a real cool idea for conversions.

Very Cool! Definitely post a review - it will be cool to hear how the 'Un-Lock' works out in the wild!

FWIW - I built a couple of personalized Stripe guitars a while back using MIM EVH Stripe bodies from Stratosphere and finished them with Jalen pickups and NFT Floyds. The necks came from Musikraft with the correct longer EVH Heel and slots for standard Fender style nuts. My Black/White has a brass nut that I bought pre-slotted, but did all the finish grooving and polishing of the slots myself, and the Yellow/Black one has a compensated shelf style nut from Graph-Tech. Again, it was pre-slotted, but I cleaned it up a bit and polished all the string grooves. Both guitars have locking tuners and it is really impressive how well both guitars stay in tune - even with pretty aggressive whammy antics. If a string is a tad out, it is such a snap to just grab the tuner on the peghead and give it a nudge. I bet you're going to be really happy with your build!
