drum roll please...
Randy gets the nod.
Maxed out 100 Watt Dave Friedman Marsha Head. This amp is the best hot rodded marshall style amp I have ever heard/owned and that included a real Jose and lots of Camerons (Note they sounded killer too but for my ear the Marsha just killed me).
Funny I had Dave modify a purple Plexi reissue head which Pete Thorn demo'd that I believe was the genesis for the Marsha Head (I may be wrong about that) Anyway my Marsha sounds much better all around to my ears than the modded Marshall and its not noisy, I guess thats what you get when you go ground up with Daves design.
No hype but I gotta tell you when I plugged my Les Paul into this amp and played a few cords I was like WTF! Articulate, Warm, Heavy, No Fizz, No Flub, Creamy, cutting, everything I always wanted in a Marshall. And here it is in front of me.
My head is #25 and I believe the most optioned Dave has built or at least it was when he built it. Keep in mind I am a Marshall guy at heart and always gravitate towards Marshall esqe tones. Heading back to play it now, with my Les Pauls it is the sound I have wanted for along time.
