Cool. Thanks for the heads up. I always find these shows interesting, and more so when it is a company I'm interested in.

Wow....that didn't really present Peavey in the greatest of lights. Disappointing to hear that they are pretty much doing away with manufacturing their products in the U.S.

That really made Peavey look bad. It started out good but took an ugly turn there at the end. can't help but think the end is coming when Hartley steps aside.

Made me sad watching that... it's terrible nobody cares about made in america anymore. kind of wish i had not seen it.

Let's all pitch in and grab peavey....and make every other manuf our bisch...

I've always loved peavey stuff....first tube amp I ever owned was a peavey

What a terrible company to work for....wow.

They fucked everyone especially that guy who had a better job he was going to take but they convinced him to stay with them.

Yep that made them look like a bunch of greedy cocksuckers and then at the end seeing what they promised those few workers still hasn't even been completed

They were making some pretty good guitar in Meridian, wish they hadn't closed their custom shop. I love my HP Special CT Custom. I also have a 5150 2x12 combo, 5150 4x12 cab, and Firebass 700, all MIA Peavey.

Sounds like the episode was depressing.

Yeah....giving that lady that had been there 24 years that 3rd week of paid vacation doesn't really mean much when she is laid off...

Damn, missed it. Will have to try to catch online maybe.

I knew they were planning on outsourcing to China, when he said; "American's don't care where gear is built anymore..." What a f--king douche!

Out of all the questions Hartley could have asked the employees when he was in the earpiece, and what does he do? He tells the guy who's undercover to ask him what he thinks of Hartley.
They gave like $30k (or were supposed to anyway)to each of those employees on the show, this is after they cut everyone's hours, kind of a slap in the face to rest of the employees wouldn't you say?

I'm willing to bet that the network give out that money. If they were doing so bad there's no way they could afford to give $50,000+ away.

People care about quality. I'm not saying the Chinese can't produce quality instruments - they can (e.g. Eastman guitars). The problem is most companies outsourcing to China are trying to do so to produce items as cheaply as possible.

Wow, that sucks I missed it. I always like to see the inside of these music instrument manufacturers. I can't believe the "no one cares where whether it's made in America" comment. It was definitely a deciding factor when I was building my rig, and guess what, all my guitars and amps are built in America. Maybe to some people it doesn't matter, but it does to me, and it keeps dollars here in my home country. I like to think its another way to be "local".

It wasn't anything special. They had like 10 people working. Their warehouse was like a graveyard.

Manufacturing in the US is basically dead, it's extremly difficult to compete while paying American wages & benefits..........top notch stuff can & is being made abroad as long as the American company that is outsourcing the work really gives a shit & has proper quality control in place.

Certain boutique stuff will still be made here for who knows how long , but Peavey surely ain't boutique & have a business to run.

Most Americans & the rest of the world care about price way before "made in their country" as long as the quality is "good enough" for them, no matter what they may claim to the contrary............
