I knew they were planning on outsourcing to China, when he said; "American's don't care where gear is built anymore..." What a f--king douche!
Those of us who care about quality do. And we're the ones that have the money to spend. Unbelievable statement. I get the outsourcing...most companies have to do it to survive. But it sounds like everything is going over there...bad move.

Shame because every so often I consider another 6505..
Think I'm done with that,

I'll stick with Scott Splawn thank you.

Dear Undercover Boss Viewers,

The conclusion of tonight’s Peavey episode is unexpected, and we wanted to share some background perspective. Since the premiere of Undercover Boss in 2010, we’ve set out to portray the inner workings of companies through the eyes and voices of undercover bosses and frontline employees. We do not endorse the companies or featured bosses as models to follow. By simply presenting the story as it unfolds, we leave the audience to form their own opinions and play "Armchair CEO” while watching the show. Most of the stories we’re lucky enough to tell on the series are inspirational, and many times conclude with the boss offering life-changing rewards for the hardworking frontline employees. Sometimes stories don’t end so perfectly, and we present those to the audience as well. In the case of Peavey, something unfortunate happened after we completed filming, which changed Thresa and Michael’s stories in a significant way…and we don’t believe the episode would have been accurate without this updated information. Thank you as always for being loyal viewers and fans.

Best regards,

Stephen Lambert, Creator/Executive Producer, UNDERCOVER BOSS

Sorry but I look lastly at MIC amp builds.
Not that the Chinese arent competent enough but rather the quality of internal components and other aspects seem much cheaper in many cases.
Sorry but no MIC Peaveys for me.
Greedy move that just may backfire.

I did a little more digging and it looks like they still intend to keep their "flagship" amps manufacturing in the U.S. So that would include the 6505, 6505+ (the head version, not the combo), 3120, Triple XXX II, Butcher, Classic series, & Penta amps. For now at least. Perhaps is is the Pro Audio products that are being primarily moved to offshore production.

I also found a news article that cited 99 workers were laid off.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Yep I have no problem spending money with guys like Scott Splawn and Randall Smith.

Just watched this.....what pricks!!! Management like this is the one of the reasons america barely produces anything anymore and wages are stagnating along with quality of life

What was the unfortunate thing that occurred?

One of the employees the COO shadowed informed him that he had put his 2 weeks notice in because he had accepted another, better paying, job. COO talked him into staying and promised over $10,000 of assistance for college for the guys kids and some other stuff. Then the guy ended up being laid off, and Peavey has yet to make good on the promises they made to him with regards to the financial assistance.

Another employee they shadowed as also promised a bunch of stuff (help with money to go back to school, money to pay off current school loans, and a paid vacation up to 10,000). She was also laid off shortly after the show was filmed, and Peavey has still not fulfilled those promises.

Peavey is moving most of their production to China, and shut down the factories they showed on the program.

I'll stick with Friedman, Suhr or Splawn and get what I pay for. What a sad company. I've never owned anything from Peavey and I'm glad. Hartley is a Scrooge and Courtland seemed like a little silver spoon bitch.

Some kind of fucked up there. If ya can't compete in the international arena, so be it. I get that, but shitting on employees? Nah, that's some kind of fucked up.

The end is wtf
These corporate scrooges are sickening; I now have serious consideration to sell off my Peavey gear

Selling won't really have much of an impact on Peavey...they already got paid when the item was purchased originally. I won't be buying any more Peavey gear in the future though.

I knew the first time I set my eyes on one of these many decades ago that I would never buy a Peavey.....

Glad to see my position has been validated - by none other than the company itself.

Yep, those early Peavey's were just plain friggin' U-G-L-Y. That said, a Bandit 65 was one of my first "real" amps. Of course I thought it was "real" because it was a step up from the little Holmes T-15 I'd had. When I finally saved up and got a Marshall a friend of mine and I ceremoniously kicked the Bandit down a flight of stairs onto a concrete floor in a moment of teenage punk rock obnoxiousness. Say what you will about those old Peavey's, but it escaped unscathed and still worked! Didn't negate the fact that it looked and sounded like s#!t.

On a lighter note.. Dweezil Zappa's Peavey - medly..
Pretty epic -
all songs Are "Peavey"
