so i took in a few guitars to be serviced by this guy sal at the guitar fix in oceanside, ny (recommended by kage - awesome dude by the way!). got my prs-se setup and outfitted with gibson 500t/496r pups, but i also brought in my 2000 reissue gibson lp 'the paul' for a setup. i bought it for $400 on ebay about a year ago and knew it wasn't an original 1981 'the paul,' but for that price, it was STILL an american-made, solid mahogany gibson and i couldn't pass it up.

anywho, got a call from sal today telling me he loved the weight and feel of the gibson compared to the les pauls he has and offered me $600 for it (and would give me the stock pups and the hardshell case back)! i countered by suggesting we do $550 and call it even on the setup/pup swap on the prs, and we made a deal.

now let's see how quickly i can piss it all away

Wait. There is a guy named Sal in Long Island? I don't believe it.

  Nice deal on the guitar. Long Island has the best Heros you will ever eat in your life. That damn NY bread and it has to be the water. Best bread, Bagels, etc. in the US. Go by yourself a dozen bagels and a hero and call it a day.

brooklyn in particular has the best breads/pizza/bagels/etc around here (i've always said it's the water too). although a guy i work with occasionally brings in bagels from around where he lives in new jersey and they are pretty delicious too.

i lived in boston for two years when i was attending college and lemme tell you, when the best pizza comes from dominoes and the best bagels come from dunkin donuts, you realize just how lucky you are to live in new york.

Shooot...I got all excited thinking there was a guy named Sal in Oceanside CA

It's not the water, it's the steroids and the hair product.
