Just figured I'd post this... well, just for the heck of it cuz it's FRIDAY! :D

I'm in the process of making my next Warmoth build. (Neck is already ordered). I wanted to do something that was a real departure from the rest of my vintage inspured builds. I wanted to make a guitar that looks pretty raw and slightly exotic, and had more of a modern edge to the playability and sound.

It's going to be based on the Washburn N4. I've always loved the N4s, but the body just never looked *right* on me, for some reason. I decided to go with a custom headstock shape that's very close to the Washburn, and use the Warmoth Soloist body. Hardtail bridge, simple controls, and a pair of Seymour Duncan Full Shred pickups. Black Korina body, and if all goes well, a Black to natural burst finish.

Just a stripped down shred machine that will inspure me to play. When I'm glued to the couch at 10PM at night, and this guitar is hanging on the wall 5 feet away, it's going to call to me and say "get up off your lazy a$$ and practice until midnight, and stop watching reality TV!!!"

Whattya think?

The thing I learned on my recent build is - DO AN OIL FINISH! I followed Vrad's lead and used Tru-Oil. The guitar rings like a bastard - like nothing I've ever played. It's kinda noticable acoustically, but hit's you over the head plugged in.

I really wanted to do a Black Korina, but a piece didn't turn up when I was shopping, so I grabbed a nice piece of Alder.
