UPDATE:I put the veneer on my guitar!!!

Noticed my camera settings were fucked up after I opened em up to resize em and I don't wanna take more. It's rough around the edges, but I don't care.. I'm not a luthier and I've had a lot of fun. What do you guys think? I kinda wanna find a new neck for it

I'm looking for a deep/rich orangey-dark yellow kind of finish similar to this, anyone have any suggestions on what I should use?

Personally, I think a Maple neck would really complete that guitar, just IMO of course.

Agreed, I want a maple neck soooo bad. AANJ maple necks are hard to find, expensive and no one wants to buy or trade for mine

If you can't find a maple neck you should dye the current fretboard to make it look like a real dark ebony.

Check this site. They have a lot of finishing products. If you want figuring of the veneer to stand out as much possible, you will want to dye your color, instead of using tinted laquer.

That sounds like a cool idea, I'd have to look into how to make that work.. I'd probably have to sand down the frets a bit? Or maybe just make every fret with a marker on it dark flamed out? (3rd, 5th 7th etc..?)

I've been trying out finishes, but I can't seem to find a finish anywhere near what I want..

From left to right; Bare/No Finish, Colonial Maple, and Red Mahogany... I used Miniwax wood finish, I think what I need to use is a dye, right?

I you did a 75/25 blend of the lighter to darker stain, you might get pretty close after the clear...
