UPDATE: The guitar was to have been delivered this past Monday. When there was no tracking update by yesterday, I contacted customer service...after being transferred up the ladder three times I was finally told that the package is lost and they would have to put a tracer out on it. They called me this morning to give me the update that they have been unsuccessful to this point but that it could take 8 days to complete their investigation.

This entire process has been a nightmare...I really wish that I hadn't gone through with this deal.

Wow man, sorry to hear things went pear shaped :( hope all clears up quick and goes well in the end!

Oh man.........................

most other guitars I would just send you mojo but considering the pedigree of THIS guitar this is very bad

Fuck.........................

Hopefully "lost" doesn't mean that someone named Wolfgang Muellerstadt is sitting back in some dingy flat in Berlin crucifying "Smoke on the Water" on an irreplaceable LNG... :aww:

I hope it is just misplaced and located quickly so that it can be sent to the rightful owner (sparing you the hassle of dealing with it...)

USPS has maximum limitations on carriage insurance..probably $500 to Germany, in spite of what it says on their website.

I shipped my ESP KH-20 to Germany via USPS at request of a buyer...I was crapping myself until it arrived.

The $500 limit is on Priority and Express Mail. The Global Express Guaranteed is $2499 limit, and to ship a guitar there in a box 44" long, 20" wide, and 8" tall is $281.00 USD. I just checked all of this online to be sure.

Looks like I used Global Express Guaranteed (I thought it was Global Express Mail back then, but hell, they might have changed the service names at the USPS since then) for the shipment.

Sorry to hear the guitar is lost. I can't stress how important insurance and good packing is for a guitar, whether it's going overseas or domestic. Good luck!
