Hi there!

I decided to upload two vids of the same song, in a raw demo version. One with the Marshall and the other one with the Mesa. I'm not sure which one i like better... Both have their qualities...Maybe i should mix them...What do you think?

Marshall signal chain: Dean Stealth, Sommer Kabel, Ibanez TS9, Marshall 2203KK, Vovox Kabel, Grossmann SG-Box, Celestion G12K100, Shure Sm57, Motu Audio Express

Mesa signal chain: Dean Stealth, Sommer Kabel, Mesa Boogie Grid Slammer, Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Multiwatt, Vovox Kabel, Grossmann SG-Box, Celestion Vintage 30, Shure Sm57, Motu Audio Express

No EQ.
Compressor, Exciter and Maximizer on the Master.
Two guitar and one Bass track. Bass is played through the JCM 800, with an Emminence 10" speaker.
Marshall:

Mesa:

Updated! Mesa+Marshall:

Cheers,

IMHO... both sound pretty bad ass. Mixing the two together would be EPIC!

I like them both as well....But if I had to choose one for that tune....MESA!!!!

Not surprisingly...The Mesa sounds a bit "bigger" in the mix...Marshall is clearer, better definition.

Mesa

Tighter punch to it.

Both are good, Mesa is just a bit more of the good stuff.

The marshall. It just sounds a lil bit better to my ears. Better clarity and note separation.

Synced up the videos and the drums sounded weird but the two amps sound huge together! Alone, I'd have to give the slight edge to the Marshall but like you said, they both have their strengths.

They both sound decent. I guess it comes down to if you wanna sound like Carcass or Immolation...

Hey guys, thank you!
I will try a mix of both panned hard left/right and will upload it asap.
Cheers,
Simon

Personally, I prefer the Marshall growl over the flatter sounding Mesa, but I wouldn't be unhappy with either, both amps work.

For that track , definitely the Mesa!

I love Marshalls for standard tuning type stuff though!

Hey!
Update bump :)
I posted the same clip with both amps together panned hard left/right...
Regards,
Simon

Cool clip!
The Mesa is big n sizzly, the Marshall more cutting n articulate.
The two together are awesome.
I think I'd have to go with the Marshall if I had to pick one.

NICE!!!!

I had the 2203K....my favorite Marshall ever!!

But that Mesa Dual recto is where the money is for me. :D

Just crushing tone.
Your clip sounded great man.

Indeed, they do! It isn't really a mix. I just adjusted the Volume, which makes it even better :) I put some effects on the master, though.
Thanks!
