Ok...I've been needing to do this for a while now... I will entertain offers and trades - as I do want to move some of these amps. Trades of interest off the top of my head would be Suhr STD, Tyler, Wolfgang, HP Custom CT, ...but try me ...you never know.

I haven't done any research on prices - what I'm asking for...is less than what I paid in all cases - if you feel my prices are off...please shoot me a PM... I'm not trying to make any money...just trying to keep the losses reasonable.

First on the block is the CAA OD-100 SE/SH with Depth/Feedback mods, Completely MINT - $2300 Shipped

Second up - Diezel Einstein 100W - again, perfectly MINT - $2350 Shipped

Third - Bray Modded Marshall SLP 100W Plexi - I will take a bath on this amp...because the headshell needs to be reglued. It's almost as if the glue just disolved...because the tongue and groove joints just slid apart. The wood is fine, only one of the tongues are damaged - If you're handy and industrious...you'll save a bundle on this amp. The amp is sonically and functionally - exactly as it was the day I bought it. Asking $1100 shipped.

I plan on posting this here and TGP...and maybe HC.... for a few days...before I throw everything up on the bay.

Good price on the Marshall for a relatively easy fix!

Hey Folks -- Due to the overwhelming interest in the Bray.... I went back into my old e-mail archives to dig up everything I had on the Bray.

I bought this amp on ebay back in Feb or March of 2006...solely with the intention of sending it to Mark Cameron for a mod he and I had been discussing. I was having conversations with him about getting a mod done and he indicated that this amp, the Marshall SLP 100W was his preferred amp to work on - and the Bray mod was the only one on ebay at the time - so I snagged it. I ended up never sending the amp to Mark...because ...I went to the hospital with an anaphylactic reaction to an antibiotic...that took me out of commission for a bit...and then once I was back up and running - he was hard to track down. He must have read or heard about my illness a few months ago - because he sent me an e-mail saying send it to him anyway - but given how much he has on his hands with his new amp...and backlog of work..it just didn't make any sense to me.

Below is the text directly from the auction
:

Here's a mint, early Marshall Super Lead Plexi Reissue with David Bray Mod I.

Powered by a new matched set of Svetlana EL34's, this amp delivers amazing tube
tone, with a little something extra...It's modded by one of the best amp techs
out there today, David Bray.

The Bray Plexi Rework/Mod I takes the basic Plexi circuit. Dave changes values
and component composition throughout, until the perfect Plexi tone is achieved.
It's extremely dynamic and not too compressed, like the amazing tone of a '67
Plexi. The gain is somewhat increased, along with a more musical and earthy EQ.
The amp really cleans up well just by using the volume control on the guitar.

There is a post phase inverter Master Volume installed, to get that cranked
Marshall Crunch at lower volumes. There are no extra tubes installed or holes
drilled in the chassis. One of the speaker jacks is removed on the rear panel
and the presence control moved to the rear, while the Master Volume is
relocated to the front presence position, for ease of use. This leaves the amp
looking totally stock.

Here's a sound clip,
to get an idea of
what this amp sounds like. This same amp sells for $2,200.00, on Dave's website.

The amp is in excellent condition, with no nicks, dings or tears in the tolex.
There are no electrical issues what so ever and the amp sounds awesome, with
amazing tone. No disappointments here...

This is additional information from the seller - that I still have from follow-on conversations I had with him via e-mail:

I've had amps modded by Trace Allen at Voodoo Amps, Scott Splawn, Doug
Roccaforte, Tim Caswell and Dave Bray.

The best bang for the buck was from Dave and was a real easy tech to work
with. Trace is great too at Voodoo.

The inputs labelled II are internally jumped with inputs I. Most plexi
players run a short 1/4" phono cable between the lower input I and top right
input II, to blend the two channels together. This has already been done
internally and no need for the short jumper cable.

Input I is the brighter and hotter of the two inputs on a Plexi. Sometimes,
it's too bright, especially if you're using a single coil pup, so you can
bring up volume II to take some of the brightness out.

Most of the time, I'm using a single coil Strat or Tele, so this is the way
I set up my tone controls. Presence(on rear panel) around 12 o'clock, Bass
full up, Mids around 1 0'clock and Treble around 1 o'clock.

For a Fender clean sound, I bring the Master Volume (in the Presence
position) full up, so that it's out of the circuit and control the volume
with Volume I and bring Volume II up just a bit to about 9 - 10 o'clock,
just to take some of the bite out and sweeten it up.

For an SRV type of grind, I bring the Preamp (Volume I) up to about 12
o'clock and vary the Master Volume (Presence position) to whatever level i
want. I always keep Volume II between 9 - 10 o'clock position.

For full out balls tone, I crank the Preamp (Volume I) full up and set the
level with the Master Volume. This amp also reacts real well to rolling off
your guitar's volume control to clean up the sound. This is what I did in
the sound clip. Just roll the volme back a bit and the amp cleans right up.

Not much into pedals at all. Maybe just a bit of chorus, flange or phase
shift at any one time. I love the tone of a cranked Marshall and most of
them wake up with the Master set around 11 0'clock. this is when the output
tube and not just the preamp tubes kick in.

I've tried all kinds of amps, from Bogner's Ecstacy to Uberschall (too much
preamp gain, with cascaded preamp circuit, like Boogies), Soldano's,
Boogies, Fenders, Mojave, Hiwatt, Blockhead, Budda, Matchless, Dr. Z's,
Cornford, Roccaforte, Splawn, Diezels, Engls, Top Hats, Laneys, VOX and a
couple of others. I always go back to a Marshall for the tone... Especially
early Plexis and 70's JMP's.

And one other e-mail from him....

It's an early SLP Reissue, produced in '93. As I mentioned,

Did you ever get a chance to see what power tubes you're running in the Einstein?

Dang!! I forgot to look. I even took close up pics of the back, incl S/N last night....just forgot to glance at the tubes. I'll do that tonight. If you call me...then I'll be sure to remember.... I'm a little (meaning a lot) senile....

Man...selling amps is hard work!! So many PMs and e-mails...that I could barely track them all...but still haven't finalized any deals yet... A lot of low ball offers.... :scared:

...am still selling stuff so I can buy that Einstein off of you. Want a down payment? LAYAWAY! lol :D

Hey man, have you had any luck with these yet?

Hey!! A Ton of nibbles....and several people who are moving gear to buy the Diezel - will be interesting to see who wins that race. A couple of interesting trade offers on the CAA - and about 1000 inquiries on the Bray...but noone has jumped....yet.

You want to do the deal for the Diezel, you want to do the deal for the Diezel.... :D
