reverse wrap the tailpiece.. made a bigger difference than I expected on my gibbys
+1......just do it! Made a huge difference on my Les Paul as well. My Les slinkier/easier bending than my 92 RG now.....Plays/Sounds like a dream. Trust me, it works!

I just ordered a Gotoh Brigde and tail piece for my epiphone les paul,it should make it better

+2.

I thought it genuinely was snake oil? haha, just would scratch the shit out of your bridge!

Top wrap changes string attack.

Wasn't for me.

Less or more attack?

I'm a huge bender (haha) so I'm looking for a set up that allows for this but retains the sustain of a LP

It is most definitely NOT snake oil....and it doesn't mess up the tailpiece worth mentioning(haven't found that it does at all really). I was worried about that too, but said fuck it....mine still looks beautiful and there are plentiful if you want to get another one(I was gonna do this, but found it unnecessary.)

Didn't mess up the attack for me. I felt like the tone was better with the tailpiece lower as well. To each their own...How steep the angle is after you top wrap makes a difference for those variables. There's a lot more room to tweak.

Me too(bends)......I think sustain would be enhanced or not effected negatively with the tailpiece screws being deeper into the body. Mine has sustain for days, like crazy and my action is VERY low. Again, it just feels stiffer strung up the traditional way....and if you want to have a shallower break angle over the bridge with the tailpiece strung traditionally you have to raise the tailpiece up to where it looks retarded and the screws are not as deep into the body of the guitar.

Any change to the attack(which I didn't find anything like that, and I would be sensitive to it) would be resulting from slinkier feeling strings which I like, not really as a result of the mechanics of the hardware, so to speak. Higher tension strings are less sensitive to hard picking.....So if you like easier bending strings it's just a result of that(which again, I didn't detect)

Cool! I will defiantly do it then. I run 9s super slinkys on all my guitars so hopefully wont notice too much difference

It made the strings flimsy and the attack dull.

Ur a Fender guy maybe thats what you want.

If you play at Eb it makes the strings unplayable unless you're using 13's.

LP strings & attack should be tight as a frogs ass underwater.

Just like alot of people claimed the only way to play a Marshall is everything on "10", that didn't work either [for me].

We are all different.

Pretty sure TW will change intonation as well.
