Upgrading pots on this Kramer Pacer Classic

I've got Scott about to wind me some new pups to try out and I want to upgrade the junky pots on this Chinese shredder while I'm at it....and probably a good nack too. Is there any certain pot you guys recommend, or just any good 500k guitar pot? 2 volumes, 1 tone. Do I need any kind of treble bleed setup or does just rolling off the volume as is, pot only, clean it up nicely? Any particular jack you guys like? I'm guessing just a plain ol Switchcraft?

I've seen where it's recommended to ream the holes bigger to fit standard pots rather than drill the holes slightly larger. What say you guys?

Treble Bleed sux ass. Super thin and grating. Just do a 50's wiring scheme which does it naturally. You only flip 2 wires. Thank me latter.

For pots: in my preference order:
-Bourns
-CTS
-Alpha

For jacks:
-Switchcraft
-Neutrik (not REAN!)

Unlike our NocturnalRinse user above, I do like treble bleeds. I prefer thin, clear and bright at lower volume over dull, undefined and murky.
One benefit is that you can do some more Malcolm Young-ish type of tones, where the extra jangle at lower gain comes in handy.

I like the RS Guitarworks Superpots, if they still sell them. And yes, you are going to have to enlarg the holes.

I thought on the baretta specials, you just clip the cap on the pot. Does the pacer have thr same sort of taper going for it?

use a reamer ...... depending on the finish a drill will crack and chip the finish

You’re probably going to want metric, not 3/8. A lot of imports have the smaller metric shaft. These are guaranteed to fit, whereas the normal ones may need you to ream out the existing hole. You won’t need a treble bleed with these pickups. Since you have a single volume, just wire the tone to the volumes wiper and it won’t suck any tone.

It has dual volume, 1 tone. But now that I think about it, none of my guitars that I can recall working on ever have anything on the pots other than just a cap on the tone and that's it. So I don't know if I've ever even had a guitar with a treble bleed setup.
