Anyone have one of these? I have one inbound, the model with the ebony board. I am fired up. I used to have the model with the maple board and that guitar was awesome. I had to switch the bridge pup out because I don't like the super distortion. Although, with my Friedman, most pickups are great with it. I will still probably get rid of the super distortion.

Awesome!!! I saw one of the cheaper ones in a store a few weeks ago but gotta have the USA!!!

Like you, I'm not a Super Distortion fan. It is ok but compared to other pickups there is this "sizzle" I can't un-hear now. As huge of a KISS fan as I am, you would think I'd have them in every guitar like Ace.

I owned one, it had the maple board, nice guitar, i wished i still had it.

Yeah, Love mine!!
Kept it stock, neck is nice. You will dig it, especially if you've had one already.

I have had one before. This new one plays even better than the first right out of the case. Its definitely a really cool looking guitar, and plays fantastic, maybe even better than any guitar I have played? Its just the single coils, I cant ever really get used to them, but I am now considering trying some sort of single spaced humbucker like a JB jr.

If you're not a fan of the single coils, are you looking for something humbucking, that's still jangly, or more on the thicker/juicier side?
Or just a bigger singlecoil tone? I used to be quite happy with Duncan SSL-5 Custom Staggered for that as a neck pickup.

DiMarzio Chopper (dual rail) ain't bad either, but less 'sparkle' than a true singlecoil. Besides, if I'm not mistaken, the neck pickup sound that defined Adrian Smith's tone was a DiMarzio older PAF. Perhaps a PAF Pro after '86...

I just snagged a used one for 1K Canadian, that's around $750 US. Ebony board, pretty stoked to get it. I had the SDX version a few years ago, did a fret level, swapped the trem for an original and added a SD SH-5, it was a killer guitar. Can't wait to try the USA version!!

If you don’t like the singles or the SD then swap the whole pick guard for a dual humbucker configuration if there’s a swimming pool route under there, if not, try a JBjr or lil ‘59.

These are killer guitars though its seems that they don't make them in gold anymore?
