use only one pair of power tubes ?

Is it possible to run the a diezel (herbert) with only one pair of tube in the power section ?
If yes, which soquet is better. six EL34 is a little bit too much in my chamber !!!

Don't do it !!! You will risk internal damage and you will be sorry. The Herbert needs 6 working power tubes.
