I just discovered this today. Using a RC booster in reverse instead of riding your volume knob or using neck pickup turned down. I was really able to dial it in to get a convinceable clean sound by turning the gain and volume down and tweaking treble and bass to taste. Also you can get a good mid gain sound too so I ordered another so Ill have 3 channels. I'm actually using a $30 donner mini rc clone and it sounds great. Anyone else try this? I tried it with an old boss GE-7 and was noisy and didn't quite do it but the RC was perfect for this and not noisy

I use the Paul Gilbert Detox for this.

I came here to say this. Same principle really, just drop the volume via an effects box and it cleans up. I haven't tried it with a boost, but I have the BB+, so I might give that a whirl on one of the channels.

I currently use an MXR 10 band eq pedal in front of my SLO to give myself a clean tone (no clean on my SLO) and it works but is far from perfect. I don't have an rc booster but I have a bb+. I will look into the detox, I had never seen it before.

Mad professor has a pedal that is made for that purpose.

Have you had a chance to try it out?

Yes, it worked well. It won't give you a crystal clear clean, but very usable for most classic rock.

I believe it is called the Orange Under Drive?
