Using CAB or LIVE to do acoustic guitar sim?

What is the best way to simulate acoustic guitar for live use? Is there a way the CAB or LIVE could be used for this? So far I used a Boss AC-2 through my amp, but obviously full range would be better, or even an acoustic guitar IR bypassing the preamp section of my amp? I could do that with my switcher using the loop.

I managed to get a good acoustic type tone by bypassing my eleven rack cab sims - touch of eq and using my EMG 60 neck/pu

I'm guessing with some IR testing and eq you can find something similar. There might even be some acoustic amp IR's floating about, or even reverb IR's that might help get a ballpark on that tone.

Good luck, let us know how the tone search goes!

Well, to me the simplest way to get a kind of an acoustic tone with electric guitar and a guitar amp is simply... to switch off the cab simulation. ;)

Of course I am talking about the ultra-bright and clean acoustic tone you get with a DI only. Any guitar cabinet will cut most of the high frequencies.

Another option would be to try a clean sound with a bass cabinet and a condenser microphone, that should work and be a little more interesting than a pure "di sound" (which I never liked, by the way).

There are many acoustic IR's out there (search the internet, KPA and Axe FX forums), and bringing one up in the Torpedo works great! Typically best results can be found via piezo pickups (piezo -> acoustic IR -> likely some EQ etc).
