This was on my Youtube list today. Thought everyone would dig it.

I like the c90.. Never would have thought it.

The C90 has flatter mids which I hear in this video but the C90 seems to have more top end than the V30 in this clip but my C90's are more "smoky"/darker sounding than that. Maybe the newer C90's have more top end to them dunno. :)

I like the V30. The C90 sounds good too, maybe even a bit cleaner, but I don't see it cutting through a live mix like a V30.

Like the V30's much better in that vid.

Edit - Guess I need to stop procrastinating and change my Avatar back................yeah, I'll do it later. :D

I like the V30 a LOT more in that vid. The C90 sounds so thin.

I have a C90 in a closed back frontloaded 1x12
it's too bassy for my modded '73 JMP (well, the v30 is too nasal for my JMP, anyway), but tone is great
maybe the excessive bass is cab construction's fault
the black shadow is very growly and open, with some nice top end edge
it's like a hugely improved G12T75 with a lot more mids, bit more low end punch and smoother top
thing is that the V30 always wins for overdriven/distorted miking

To me it sounds like the V30 is a little broken in and the MC90 sounds fresh out of the box. MC90's are usually darker and fatter than what that video showed, IMHO.

I agree. I have a Mesa 1x12 widebody with a C90 & it sounds way fatter & darker than the vid.

In that video I like the c90 for cleans, v30 for crunch and high gain.

remember, there is always some coloring of the tone based the type and placement of mics. Always hard to tell for me in videos unless it's a huge difference, especially through my crappy computer speakers. I wouldn't kick a dead hog in the ass for the difference based on that video.

Yup i agree with others who said that the C90 sounds like it's brand new/not broken in. There is a certain boxyness/harshness that you can hear with any brand new speaker.. My V30's had the same thing going on when they were new.

V30's for me please..
they always cut in a mix, recorded or live

+1 My thoughts exactly. My experience with the MC90 though is that it is much smoother in the highs than what I heard in this clip.
