awesome, thx for the post, didn't show in my subscriptions for some reason,

this is another segment they did on the studio

looks like Vai has done very well for himself.

I want that blowtorched Universe.

Just picked up the latest rag with Vai and Tosin on the cover. Vai's always been a god to me - he's just simply untouchable in the talent department.

Great post - thanks ejecta!

The worst interviewer ever?? He's personable and funny...If anything she could have done the interview in a bikini or something.

Vai is the best. Worst interviewer ever though.

I think Dirks is a good interviewer. She asks the right questions down to string gauges. The problem is the sound levels could have been better and the camera-work is awful.

That was great. Wife and I watched the whole thing. She was laughing. Vai is a funny guy.

Rebecca is the best interviewer ever.

I will say I had to raise my eyebrows several times with some of Vai's thoughts regarding guitars and what makes them sound the way they do, example was his thoughts on rosewood vs maple boards, but his new studio is incredible.

The FTLOG guitar is historic.

The guy's navigating though a room full of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Give me a break!

The guy shot it like Blaire Witch   Give me a break. PG's interviews are totally unprofessional and shipshod at best. Only bright spot is Dirks.

Maybe he's trying not to break anything? I dunno. Only guy I can't stand is the guy with the hat and goatee.

you mean this guy....

Her questions and delivery are much better than anyone I've seen on the interweb recently. She always thinks of things the artists and other interviewers gloss over. The Sustainer question for instance..
And she's lighthearted and funny. She's having a good time. You can't teach that.
Anyway, I really dig her. The Guthrie interview is great as well.

I really enjoyed the whole thing, great collection of guitars and effects...should be able to get any sound he can think of.

One thing I was wondering about they didn't mention-is Vai still using those True Temperament fretted necks, I didn't see any on any of the guitars they showed...there were pics in some magazine of them even on his couple of favorite axes?

One other comment he missed the boat on a bit, waseven though his Jem series has been going strong for 25 years, Les Paul has him beat by a few years in the signature guitar dept.

Oh if you think she's a bad interviewer(which she isn't) go watch some other PG ones, those idiots remind me of the local Guitar Center rejects.

Yeah she's got great t_ts and is a looker but she doesn't speak naturally and her delivery is horrible for the most part.

I love Vai, but that was boring as shit. Dirks is terrible. Over 7min and she asks 1 question and a bad one at that... that isn't an interviewer, it is a mic stand. As for asking Vai about a sustainer and scalloped frets? What next...a monkey grip? Give me a break...

Not saying I have seen every vid Vai is in but I have NEVER seen those frets other than one time and IMO they are only brought up on the JEM forum which I put very little stock in as that forum is nothing but under the bed collectors for the most part aside from a few cool guys that play their Ibanez stuff.

Rich is cool though.
