That sounds great. I love VH tones but I just don't get obsession about chasing a 35 y/o tone.

There are guys chasing tones older than that... that is certain.

I did notice you have quite a bit of Van Halen clips on your soundclick page. You sure, you don't get it? Just teasing....

Yeah look at the plethora of baby boomers chasing Clapton's 45 year old Cream/Bluesbreakers tone.

I keep thinking about That amp

a PT100
a Metro JTM45/100
and My MKIII Coliseum

as the lineup w/ the Big Rig-- for Rock and Roll Mania. LOL-- I feel like I used to, when dreaming about building my rig.

rockstahs stuff sounds good but i know of guys from the metro forum who sent money to him over a yr ago an never got an amp. I also like David brays amps and mods alot and his are the closest for vh tones if thats your bag..Check out Brays youtube clips and u will be blown away

Sounds killer! I sure wouldn't mind having an amp with that tone in the stable.

How about the Reeve's Super '78? It's purpose-built to get that tone (not modded), rock-solid and built like a tank. Plus, it's an off-the-shelf amp that comes with a return policy. I love the tone of some of the Bray amps as well...

Fortin
Bray

ALL amazing stuff.... Rockstah's clips have by far been the most convincing, and consistent to my ears-- at getting that tone.

I'm fairly curious if anyone that has bought his amps can make it sound like that. I'm leaning towards no. :)

I am trying to purchase that actual amp, because I am pretty confident, that I would be able to have a REALLY fun time trying. I'm thinking I could get it sounding ridiculous KILLER.

Run that JMP Super Lead, the Cameron SLP Super Lead I have here, My Super Reverb head, amd MKIII Coliseum in the Big Rig, for some serious tone fun.
