Variac'd Superlead type amps; SL68, Helios, et al

Unfortunately the relay switches back to the clean channel if I run a variac, and that sucks.
I run a variable input supply for filaments and relays in my design. Let’s you variac down the plates and the bias supply independent of the filaments and relay control. Of course it will drop out at around 60VAC so there is a lower limit, and the supply warns you not to exceed load parameter limitations for a dropped input voltage, but there’s wiggle room if you crunch the math.
