Vented G12T75 1960b cab opinions

I've been looking for a 4x12 for the past few months, and I found one locally for $650. I've always wanted to try out the first version vented G12T-75 speakers, but the only problem is the speakers seem to be rusted and oxidized badly, and there's possibly some white mold in the cab. Should I risk it and try to clean up the cab and hope the speakers will be fine long-term, or should I pass?

I've had a vented 75 cab that looked like that. I wonder if it's something to do with that year/batch from Celestion? Same oxidized look on the frames. The cab sounded great though, never had any issues. I'd grab it as long as it sounds good, if you play through it first.

The price is a little higher than what I'd want to pay but they're great sounding speakers IMO.

I suppose im just concerned about longevity of the speakers from the oxidation and possible rust. Also is the white mold looking stuff on the beam and bottom corner of the cab anything to worry about? There's another marshall cab i can get thats in much better shape inside but its the non vented white label g12t75 and im not sure if those sound as good. Thank you.

I wouldn’t touch that cab. Screws partially out and looks like it’s been wet. Flood damage?

You'll know if you can play it first whether or not it was stored in a damp environment for long periods of time. I've tried some 70s BB cabs that sounded like ass and smelled damp...those were shot. Since I've had a cab just like that, same vented 75s with that same white on the frames, I don't believe that is evidence of damp storage since that cab I owned sounded as killer as the other vented 75 cabs I've had.
For 650, that's easily a good deal IMO since they only put the vented 75s in for a year or so; 84-85 then non vents. They sound WAY different than any other 75, almost like a 65.
Those cabs are worth 800 or more depending on the condition of the cab.

I should mention the screws...any vintage cab I've bought, I've had to re tighten down many screws throughout the cab. Over time and depending on how they were used, those screws loosen. It's good to check all your cabs as they all might have a few screws loose lol

He also has a slanted cab which id honestly prefer since it'll be my only 412 and be better for monitoring but the bottom left speakers has alot of that white rust that looks like mold. I zoomed in on a pic of the speaker im talking about. If you think its fine I'll go ahead and get it as for the price I dont think I could much better speaker wise. Thanks again.
