You thought an UN-molested block letter 5150 was where it's at?

Check this one out. Found it at Guitar Center User Gear online. Just browsing high gainers to see if anything jumped out at me. This 'head' appears to have been designed or modded to make it harder to carry but easier to set on the ground. We all know that annoying feeling of trying to put an amp head on a 4x12 speaker cabinet right? Just not intuitive.

This solves that. Now you can simply bend down or bend over as the knobs are facing up at you. I wish more manufacturers would do this. I bet it could be modded further to somehow stick a speaker in it.

Note, this head is in Good condition

That's a stock 5150 2x12" combo.

Stock Peavey 5150 2x12 combo with a tube buffered reverb to boot. I actually like the tone of the 2x12 60W combos more than the 5150 original or 5150 III lineup.

Fairly common to do the opposite and put the head into its own head cabinet and make a 2x12 cabinet out of the combo leftover.

Yeah, those were a cool design because they closed up the speaker section rather than leaving it open-backed.

I think 311Splawndude was making fun of GC for calling the combo a “head”. That’d be a huge ass head.

Yeah - it was a joke guys.

The real joke was trying to pick one of those up! I remember having one.

Many times my back was sore after gigging with that guy!

Was a great high gainer combo at the time and loved the closed back!

I have one of those fuckin anchors; heaviest, most awkward-to-move amp I've ever experienced.

They do sound pretty rad though
