As for the pups in that guitar - I'm putting my money on 'em being 100% stock as those are hard pups to replace with aftermarkets. I think the guitar is the 408 model with 408 pups.

I didn't know it had fallen behind.

I think there are enough professionals using the Axe II that it is just a matter of taste rather than quality.

Well, you don't know if it's fallen behind until you get the new version to know what the old version was lacking.

I thought the Kemper had the edge on the Axe once quality profiles were put out, but it that gap seems narrower now. IMO IMHO JMO YMMV

More like a Mercedes or BMW. I can afford a Ford or Chevy.

A few months ago I would have taken the Kemper, but the latest clips of the Axe sounds pretty good.

There arent several, Mark(Rockstah) would be the only one, the others fall short, plus I own the last amp that Mark Modded.Mark isnt around to perform his mod 5 anymore.Other mod 5 modded Marshall's done by others dont sound like Marks Mod 5.What other builder's/modders(that perform mods) that you have heard sound like the clip listed above,I havent heard any.

Sounds like that "gain/crunch/saturation" is there. Go to metro amp and look around there, you'll find other close approximations. They may not get as close as Rockstah, but neither did the AxeFX.

The first clip was fair warning not Van halen 1.The second clip was McFly's close to Van halen 1.The third clip the majority of songs were from other not Van halen 1 except for one song.What ever......
