What’s the lowdown on the mighty vh4 vs the might wizard .

I have both . I think MTL2 is a lot better . I think MTL2 is a notch about. I also like my Herberts better . Idk Vh4 is cool but I’d trade it abs dome cash for a 2c++ lol
But ya I’m definitely going MTL2 .

I've never played a VH4, always wanted to, but the 2 Herberts and DMoll I owned were polar opposites to the Wizards I've owned. Diezel=soft/round low end attack, darker mid voicing, somewhat processed/synthetic sounding, uber compressed. Wizard=hard/direct/fast low end attack, Brighter mids, especially MC25, MCII, raw/organic sounding, as open/uncompressed as it gets.

I've never owned a Diezel for more than a couple weeks. Not bad amps, just not good for me. I often wonder if VH4 would be different and more up my alley, but just can't ever seem to pull the trigger.

I have both too and the typical descriptions you hear are pretty accurate. The VH4 feels a little less dynamic and thicker in the low-mids, great clean channel and good medium gain sounds (on Ch 2). The MTL is more scooped, more aggressive and has a killer rhy channel. I'm a big Diezel fan but after acquiring a few Wizards recently I can see what all the fuss is about, great amps.

When I get some time I'll make up a bunch of clips and videos, and do some proper A/B comparisons if that's the kind of thing you fellas would be interested in.

These are my 2 favorite brands . But if I had one I got wizard . But I’ll always keep both on as one for my sound

I could see that being awesome...the thick for compressed but evil sound of the Herbert with the tight, open, punch of the Wizard. I always meant to mix my Uber Rev blue with the MCII but was lazy and never tired it.

I bet that would have been great . Do you mix your wizard with anything lately?

I’ve been offered a vh4 and a fortin Cali for my mtl so I’m considering both options even though I love the wizard . But I also have never tried either of those amps. Had some diezels . Liked some things didn’t like other things . But never dipped toes in the fortin pond .

Tell him give you both for it

Any of you dude's ever wonder..
With these versus questions,
Screw the amps, let's have a
Amp Builder Death Match.
Rick vs Peter?
Larry vs Dumble?
Friedman vs Cameron?

The ring will be in the shape of an octal
power tube base.

I want to be the Vegas announcer guy.
No worries dude's, I'll be bringing the
Corey Taylor best scream in the business: "COME ON!!!!!!"

For real man!

What year is your MTL. I have a '16 that is definitely more scooped than my newer '19 KT150 and the '20 mk2 I had which are much more mid forward. I actually like '16 better than my mk2, so I ended up selling the mk2.

You would hate the VH4.... it's the antithesis of the Wizard. lol Dark, compressed, and smooth. It is probably the tightest of the Diezels though.

I've owned the Vh4 and Cali. The Cali is cool, but it needs to be a 100w amp. I hated the saturation pull... it gives it too much compression.

What do you not like about the MTL that makes you want to sell? If you want something more compressed and saturated with a little bounce in the response, maybe consider a Driftwood.

Wizard hands down. I enjoyed the VH4 but there is no comparison between the two ( at least in my opinion ).
