I haven't tried anything fancy like a Bogner Fish or Soldano X88, but I gotta say the Fryette designed Synergy modules are the best I've tried in that lineup (owned and sold about 10 of those suckers). I A/Bed the new D60 head to my Deliverance module/2150 setup and the latter nails that sound plus gives you two channels. The head went back.

I'd like to try the IICP module into the 2150, but you can't go wrong with either of the Deliverance/Pitbull modules.

And FYI I A/Bed those two...I don't care what Fryette says, I can make the damn things sound identical throughout the gain range. Pick the one with the feature set you like best...no need to own both ?

I have used a long time sold ada 3 tube mp-1 and Langner dcp-1, both completely smoke through the 2150 and 2100. I might be looking for a X88R or something similar...the fish was never impressive and that's what I'm after is something impressive. Blake ran that jmp-1 in his clip and it killed?

....and the cool thing about the JMP is, they aren't unobtanium to locate/buy. Unlike the Fish et al...

Back in 2020 and early 2021 I had a VHT 2150, Fryette 2100 and a Fryette 292 all at the same time and plenty of A/B'ing. Bunch of preamps, Fish, CAE 3+SE, Mesa Studio and a few myasnikovs.

All those power amps sounded sick. I definitely had a preference for the KT88 stuff vs the 2100. I also had a preference between the 2150 and 292.

Of all that rack gear though, I only have the Fish left. That always sounded better through any power section of a amp head.

May I jokingly say you would be hard pressed to be impressed with any preamp sitting on a Langner DCP-1. LOL

I’d love to have one to run the preamps out of my amps into for fun and see what unique tones I could come up with. This has been done for sure, even in modern days like today, but I would love to hear it!

All this 2150 shit is making me want to get back into the rack game. God dammit Ted. STOP!

That Langner is going to be tough to beat. I had the JMP-1 at one time, but it sounded like a toy compared to the DCP-1. But….I certainly wasn’t running the 2150 with it.

I can't, unless you experience a 2150 you will have no clue. You can't facetime real tone through your 15w weak ass lunchbox, not your computer or your axefx non binary modeling dildo...nothing made can match REAL power and REAL wattage you dogs...

The X99 probably is tops for me and my 2150. I think the 2150 really lends itself to preamps with big, bold midrange. Makes sense since it was made in the late 80s.

As Blake so skillfully demonstrated in his clip. I know there must be schematics of that amp but the sauce is in those specific transformers. I just wish I could find a 2150 damaged to the point to where the parts could be used in a custom amp head.

On my 2100 classic- my cae3+,badcat pre,vht gp3,jmp1.
On my 2150- my x88r, fish,triaxis, quad.
But really any of those would sound killer into either power amp.
Couple notes: the fish literally comes to life in a big way when you get the ch vols up and the presence reversed.
The jmp-1 has some very authentic marshall tones in it ,especially with the 2100 or 2150.It really doesn't get any better than those 2 behemoths .
On another note,I have a mezzabarba preamp enroute right now.super excited to see where it'll fit in!
