I won a VHT 2502 on eBay, and 11 days later the VHT finally lands. Was shipped out via USPS parcel. After seeing the box I knew it was going to be F'd up. So I take it out, surprisingly think everything is fine, so I go to mount it, bottom right corner is bent in.. I love crappy packaging jobs  Gonna fire it up right now and see if it works. Is there any way to fix the corner properly other than a Hammer to the corner? I don't feel like claiming the insurance since it will take 500000 years, however, if I do claim it, what is the usual process? I would rather just fix the corner and be done with it

Holy crap, fired it up.. this thing F'n rocks with the M4  That's at conversation levels only though, gonna crank it tomorrow afternoon :D

Got to make some more minor adjustments to the corner, but it's pretty much bent back into place, looks all retarded but who gives a crap it works

Josh you gotta try this out with the M4! My AxeFX ultra just landed as well today, gonna get some cabling done and finish cabling up this rig now :D

Damn that sucks dude, its like they put the box on its side and started jumping on it

Can someone give me a basic rundown of what these 2 buttons on the front do? There is a Level and Voicing button, I can't find a manual online.

:D I think I should have it all programmed by the time Amp Fest rolls around. Hopefully I don't get slammed at work anytime soon, have another deadline coming up on June 15th :aww:

Hey man - voicing does an EQ shift - to my ears, makes it more peaky in the mid-range, I usually run mine with the button out. Level basically attenuates the amp - like running a Hot Plate on the output, but with only one setting - it reduces it to levels where the babies can still sleep, but affects the dynamics of the amp pretty severely....Nice thing about the 2502 is that you can run it really really low volumes (without the Level engaged) and it still sounds great - I rarely use the Level button.

One other thing - unless you are using it as a stereo rig, I highly recommend getting a set of THD Yellow Jackets or Groove Tubes Substitubes EL84 converters and put those in one side, leave the EL34s in the other side. Gives you twice the tone options, so with an M4, it's like have a freakin' 16 channel amp!! The El84 converters also lower the power, so you can get more saturation at lower volumes (further reduces the usefulness of the Level switch).

Awesome, thats what I was thinking it did when I played around with it for a bit. I prefer it without the Level button though like you said. This thing is killer at lower volumes! Awesome idea with the EL84.

Also for the power amp, it looks like it can take 6L6 and EL34's, is it possible to put one side to EL34 and one side to 6L6"s or does it have to be one or the other?

Thanks!
